Program of Work
The Chamber’s “Program of Work” is the blueprint by which it operates and is created by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Each Board Member chairs a committee that oversees the various programs, services and events of the Chamber. These all fall under three strategic areas of the Chamber.

Business Development
This area of the Chamber encompasses three committees: Economic Development, Small Business and Education. Economic Development focuses on promoting the Wake Forest area and expanding the business base. Small Business serves the members of the Chamber by helping them grow their business through educational seminars and promotional opportunities like the annual Expo. Education is focused on the workforce of the future, providing rewards to outstanding teachers and financial grants for local school projects.

Government Affairs
The interests and concerns of Chamber members and the business community are presented to local, county, state and federal officials through the Government Affairs Committee. This group monitors public policy and educates the business community on issues and candidates during elections.

Membership Services
The work of this area is to retain existing members and recruit new members to make the Wake Forest Chamber a more powerful and effective organization. Its activities include networking events, new member orientations, member feedback, and membership sales. Two of the most successful programs are the Ambassadors – the goodwill and retention arm of the Chamber; and Leadership Wake Forest – an instructional program designed to cultivate and train community leaders.

Fundraising
The Chamber’s Program of Work is supported by the organization’s fundraising efforts. Chamber operations are funded through membership dues and separate fundraising programs. The Fundraising Committee oversees Chamber Champions, an annual sponsorship program; the Golf Tournament; the Reverse Raffle; and the Chamber’s Membership Directory.
